At Prairie Arms, we make it easy and efficient to sell your guns, whether it's one firearm or a whole collection. Here's a little bit more about the safe and professional gun selling process at Prairie Arms, a Federal Firearms Licensed dealer:

Send us Details about Your Firearm

To give you the best value for your guns, we ask that you send us as much information about the firearms as possible. The form includes:

  1. Take photos of all sides of each firearm (Left side, right side, note any flaws).
  2. Tell us the make, model caliber of the gun(s) if you know it.
  3. Send the serial number if you can locate it. The serial number is generally located on the receiver/frame of the gun. However, prior to 1968, manufacturers were not required to serialize guns. So older guns may not have a serial number. We will not accept guns if a serial number has been scratched off.
  4. Rate the condition - Near-perfect condition, very good, good, fair, or poor.
  5. Does it function and is it in working condition?  (yes/no)
  6. Note any other details you may know about the guns. (History, usage, packaging, accessories -- Tell us your story!)

If you don't know or don't feel qualified to rate the gun, don't worry! Just send us a few photos and we will help with the appraisal.

Prairie Arms Will Assess Your Firearm and Make You an Offer

Within 12 hours after you send us an email or complete the contact form, we will respond with an offer for your firearm.  You have 48 hours to consider the offer.  You can accept the offer via email and we can move on to the third step in the process. If you choose not to sell to us, there is no charge for our time.

Send Us Your Gun

Once we agree on the sale, we will send you a pre-paid label for you to ship your guns to us at no cost to you. Please mail us your firearm within 3 business days. We ship via FedEx only. NOTE: Packaging must meet FedEx guidelines. If not, you are liable. Click here to see how to ship firearms with Fedex. Contact us with any questions. We'll be glad to walk you through the process.

You Receive Money!

After we receive your firearms, we will assess their condition within 2 business days (Monday-Friday) and email you with our offer. If the condition doesn't meet the expectations from your photos or we find repairs are needed, the offer may be reduced. If you accept our offer, we will begin the ownership transfer process. You don't have to do a thing!  Because Prairie Arms a federal firearms licensed (FFL) dealer, we will prepare all the details: the legal paperwork to transfer ownership and comply with with Title I. of the U.S. Gun Control Act of 1968. We will email you a receipt and mail you a check.

What if I decline the offer after I've shipped my guns to you?

If we need to return the gun, you must pay the return shipping costs. We will return the gun to a licensed FFL dealer in your state for you to pick up.
